Holton Community Center Auction   Leave a comment

Highway to Heaven

It’s that time of the year again when our local Holton Community Center holds their Annual Harvest Auction this coming Saturday. And once again I am happy to have donated one of my photographs to help them raise the money they need to continue to operate.

The Holton Community Center is a non-denominational, no-profit, Christian center that provides for those in need through compassion, understanding, and assistance with food, clothing, and other resources. The Holton Community Center is a project of area churches and community volunteers, working together to be ‘the Hands of Christ to the Holton community’.

The photograph (image to the left) was printed as an 8×10, double matted in an 11×14 mat and framed. Hopefully someone will like it as much as I do.

It’s Really the Cat’s House – We Just Pay the Mortgage. – Author Unknown   Leave a comment

“The kitten was six weeks old. It was enchanting, a delicate fairy-tale cat, whose Siamese genes showed in the shape of the face, ears, tail, and the subtle lines of its body. […] She sat, a tiny thing, in the middle of a yellow carpet, surrounded by five worshipppers, not at all afraid of us. Then she stalked around that floor of the house, inspecting every inch of it, climbed up on to my bed, crept under the fold of a sheet, and was at home.”
― Doris Lessing, On Cats

“A kitten is the delight of a household. All day long a comedy is played out by an incomparable actor.”
― Champfleury, The Cat Past and Present

“I sometimes think the Pussy-Willows grey
Are Angel Kittens who have lost their way,
And every Bulrush on the river bank
A Cat-Tail from some lovely Cat astray.”
― Oliver Herford, Rubaiyat of a Persian Kitten

Little Frankie just loves to get under covers and blankets. This morning he decided to lay under the throw on the couch and peek out to see if anyone was watching, then when he decided no one was watching he stuck his head all the way out as if to say, “This is my place, dogs and humans stay out!”
