Seeing Is………..?   Leave a comment

Photography is an interesting creative process. There are several schools of thought on what might be considered art. Does the photographer have the responsibility of producing photographs that are “true” to the scene? Can he or she use the same type of creative process that other visual artist employ? Is manipulation of the photograph a mortal sin? Where do you stand? What is your thought?

The photograph that appears here is obviously not an actual representation of the scene that my camera first captured. It has been manipulated dramatically with various adjustments and programs. However, to me, this photograph more clearly represents what I felt at the time of capture. There is a power and majesty that could not be shown in a normal color image. Is it reality? I guess that depends of your definition of reality!
